This 15 cm square dish has a maple leaf design screen printed on to the surface of steel blue glass using using powdered glass and then heated in a kiln to a very high temperature so that the glass comes out completely smooth on the surface and the different elements have ‘fused’ together. The edges of the dish are a slight silver grey due to the properties of this steel blue base glass which can turn a silvery grey in the heat of the kiln. The flat fused piece was then slumped in a mold to created this shallow 15 cm square dish which gently slopes upwards at each corner.
