The product came with a piece of magnet popped out of one of the letters. I glued it back in and double checked all the other letters, pushing the magnets down to secure them in place. Some of the letters come in multiples of two or three and a few are just the single letter itself. I bought these for a one year old, so they should work. Just double check and keep an eye on whoever plays with them for any possible choking hazards.
