Hand forged fire poker. These pokers are hand forged in my forge in Warwickrshire. They have a spiral top and a twist in the centre of the shaft. They are approximately 61cm long. The fire poker is a very traditional item made by blacksmiths for centuries. Once I have heated the metal in the fire and shaped it on my anvil I remove any scale with a wire brush, this reveals the beauty of the steel. I then coat the poker with beeswax to protect it and give it a beautiful sheen. The spiral sits well in the hand and helps balance the poker when in use. They make great gifts for weddings and anniversaries….the 6th wedding anniversary is “iron” and the 11th anniversary is “steel”. Great in a modern or traditional home.
